Notice of Upcoming Water Rate Adjustment
August 15, 2025
On August 12, 2025 the RCWSC Board of Directors approved a necessary water rate adjustment. The effective date will be October 1, 2025. The monthly statement issued on October 25, 2025 will be the first bill to reflect the new rates.
The last rate adjustment was in February 2015. For more than a decade, RCWSC has worked hard to operate as efficiently as possible and absorb rising costs, thus minimizing financial impact to our members. Over the past ten years operating costs have increased, including electricity, fuel, chlorine gas, labor, equipment, repair materials, and regulatory compliance. In order to maintain service quality and ensure the future sustainability of our water system, we have no choice but to adjust our rate structure.
RCWSC is a non-profit utility, and the only source of income is from water sales. To remain financially stable and responsive to changing costs, our rate structure will be evaluated annually. This approach allows us to make smaller, more manageable adjustments as needed rather than large infrequent increases.
Key Rate Changes:
- Water will no longer be included in the minimum bill.
- Most of the rate increase will occur in the block usage tiers.
- If your water use is equal to the previous minimum level of 2000 gallons, the increase in your bill should be less than $10 per month.
